glad my priorities are straight
and that the first thought I had when a fire truck and an ambulance pulled up in front of my building was, “fuck, does this mean I have to put on a bra and pants?”

nutella-inspired rice krispie treats
Good lord, you all, these are amazing.
-3 cups of rice cereal (it can be totally stale as fuck - mine’s from birthday rice krispie treats I made last July)
-2.5 tsp of vanilla extract (I never ever measure vanilla and just guess and it seems to work out. also you should make your own vanilla because it’s cheap and lasts forever - just get a couple vanilla beans, slice them open...

get excited
I will once again be taking up the mantle (well, part of it anyway) at Those Hovercrafts and my triumphant return will be a sports post, which will probably never happen again. I’m excited and scared and mostly excited.

how many baked goods can I make in procrastination?
so far we’ve got a lovingly-crafted fried egg sandwich and nutella-inspired rice krispie treats, and it’s only noon on Friday

The theme of this semester seems to be loss. I feel like a broken record. This one was probably the closest so far. He was kind and helpful and not afraid to tell me when I was doing something wrong (or right). He was one of the reasons that I loved working in a restaurant. I am heartened by the outpouring of support and love and disheartened that death keeps happening on my periphery.

Cleveland travel journal, part two

Garfield monument (Taken with instagram)
Full Saturday of vacation loveliness.
-Cake for breakfast then a run through sculpture garden and museum complex
-A Christmas Story Museum. Weirdly incredibly interactive, yet hands-off.
-Jeni’s ice cream and a delightful jaunt through Chagrin Falls, OH. Cherry lambic and riesling poached pear sorbet.
-James Garfield memorial....

Fairy tales + Philip Pullman →
Oh wow - I am so excited for this to come out. I’m even more excited that Pullman’s favorite is The Juniper Tree, which was my favorite growing up. I still have my severely battered, 1000+ page copy of Grimm’s Fairy Tales. Both covers are missing and it’s stained and bent beyond belief, but I love it.

Can’t somebody just give me a green road bike that is also vintage and cool looking, but not so cool looking that it’ll get jacked? And is the right height for me and light enough that I can carry it up two flights of stairs every day?
